Our horses depend on a dedicated community of volunteers every single day. Whether you can give a few hours a month or show up every weekend, your time makes a direct difference in the lives of our 12 residents.
Ways to get involved
Daily Horse Care
Help with morning and evening feeding, mucking stalls, grooming, and general herd observation. This is the backbone of sanctuary life — hands-on, physical, and deeply rewarding.
Weekends · 2–4 hrsEvents & Fundraising
Support our open barn days, fundraising events, and community outreach. Help with setup, greeting visitors, sharing horse stories, and spreading the word about our mission.
Occasional · As neededSkilled Volunteers
We welcome volunteers with skills in photography, social media, grant writing, fence repair, veterinary assistance, or farrier support. Your expertise goes a long way.
Flexible · Project-basedSupply Runs & Transport
Help pick up hay, feed, and supplies from local vendors, or assist with transporting horses to veterinary appointments when needed.
Flexible · As neededWhat to expect
- Must be 16 or older (under 18 requires a parent or guardian on-site)
- Closed-toe shoes and long pants required around the horses
- Orientation session required before your first shift
- Comfort around large animals — no prior horse experience needed
- Reliable transportation to our Florissant, CO location
